11. Cleaning and maintenance
a)
Cleaning the filter
• The filter prevents coarse dirt and most other impurities from getting into
the pump drive. Check it regularly, as soiling reduces the pumping capacity.
•
Disconnect the pump from the mains voltage by pulling the mains plug out
of the mains socket.
•
Open the sealing cover on the underside of the rain water tank pump by
turning it counter-clockwise to the left and then remove it.
• Carefully remove the foam filter ring and rinse it thoroughly with clean wa
-
ter.
• Dirt in suction openings or filter housing can be removed with jet water
(e.g. garden hose).
• Insert the filter in the correct orientation.
•
Place the sealing cover you removed at the beginning correctly in the open-
ing and lock it by turning it clockwise to the right.
b) General information
Apart from filter cleaning (see section 11. a), the rain water tank pump has no user serviceable parts, so never open
or dismantle it. Maintenance, repair and associated rain water tank pump dismantling may only be carried out by a
specialist or a specialist workshop.
Before cleaning the rain water tank pump, disconnect it from the mains voltage by pulling the mains plug out of the
mains socket. Allow the rain water tank pump to cool down completely.
Use a dry, clean, soft and lint-free cloth to clean the outside of the rain water tank pump. If necessary, rinse the outer
surface with clear water.
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may damage the
housing or stop the product from functioning properly.
Allow the the rain water tank pump and power cord to dry completely before putting them in storage.
