• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are not pinched, kinked
or damaged by sharp edges.
• Always lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
This poses a risk of injury.
• For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during
storms.
•
Ensure there is sufficient air circulation when you operate the product. Never
cover the product.
• Do not touch the power adapter if there are any signs of damage, as this may
cause a fatal electric shock! Switch off the mains voltage to the socket containing
the power adapter (switch off the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the
safety fuse, and then switch off the corresponding RCD protective switch). You
can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty
power adapter in an environmentally friendly manner and discontinue its use.
Replace it with a power adapter of the same design.
•
Never pour liquids over electrical devices or place objects filled with liquid next to
the device. If liquid or a foreign object enters the interior of the device nevertheless,
first power down the respective mains socket (e.g. switch off the circuit breaker)
and then pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Do not operate the product
any more afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room into
a warm one. The condensation that forms may destroy the product. The power
adapter may also cause a fatal electric shock! Allow the product to reach room
temperature before connecting it and putting it into use. This may take several
hours.
• Use extreme caution when working with voltages above 35 V/DC! Touching
electrical conductors with these voltages may cause a fatal electric shock.
• For installations in industrial facilities, follow the accident prevention regulations
for electrical systems and equipment issued by the national safety organisation or
the corresponding national authority.
• Consult a technician if you are not sure how to use or connect the product, or if
you have concerns about safety.
•
Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be carried out by a technician or a
specialist repair centre.
• If you have any questions which are not answered in these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) Connected devices
• Always observe the safety instructions and operating instructions of any other
devices which are connected to the product.
• Always disconnect all devices from the power supply before connecting or
disconnecting cables.

It is recommended to connect the incoming network cable to one of the LAN ports
5 - 8 so that all PoE LAN ports 1 - 4 can be used.
• Place the product in a cool environment. Please observe the operating conditions in
“Technical data”. Leave a distance of at least 10 cm around the device to ensure adequate
air circulation. Never cover the product. Place the product on a levelled and clean surface.
• Connect the incoming RJ45 network cable to one of the LAN ports 5 - 8.
• Connect an RJ45 network cable CAT 5, 5e, 6 (twisted pair, max. 100 m per cable) to one of
the PoE LAN ports 1 - 4

. You can connect an IEEE 802.3af compatible device (such as an
IP camera) to the other end of the network cables. The total output power for 4 PoE LAN ports
is 60 W, max. 30 W per port. Please observe the "Technical data" section.
• Insert the connection plug of the supplied power cable into the connection socket of the
power adapter. Connect the round plug of the power adapter to the connection socket
