Thank you for the con

fi

dence you have shown in us by choosing a

REHOBOT product. REHOBOT stands for high quality products and we
hope that this product will serve you well for many years.

To avoid problems in operation we recommend that you read these
instructions before you use the product.

Technical description (Fig. 1)

Hydraulic single-acting cutting tool with spring return.

Max. working pressure:

80 MPa (800 bar,  11,600 psi)

Max. cutting force:

75 kN (7.7 tonnes, 8.4 s.t.)

Max. opening:

40 mm (1.6 in)

Weight:

3.7 kg (8 lbs)

Cutting head rotates freely through 355º (Fig. 2).

PC75-40R is also equipped with a swivel coupling to allow swivelling
connection of the hydraulic hose. The swivel coupling can rotate
through 360º, even under pressure (Fig. 3).

Connecting to hydraulic pump

Connection

The tool is intended for connection to an hydraulic pump with a
maximum working pressure of 80 MPa (800 bar, 11,600 psi).
The tool is equipped with a quick coupling (male) to permit hydraulic
connection.
The tool and pump can only be connected when both are
depressurised.
After connection, the locking ring on the female pump coupling should
be screwed forwards over the male coupling to prevent accidental
disconnection and to show that the tool is correctly connected.
The dust caps from the male and female couplings should then be
joined together as shown in Fig. 4. This prevents contamination of the
dust caps.

Disconnection

Disconnection is the reverse sequence to connection.  NOTE, the tool
must be depressurised before it can be disconnected.

Operation

The cutting tool is operated by means of the connected hydraulic pump.

•

Close the hydraulic pump release valve.

•

Operate the pump lever.

•

Release by opening the hydraulic pump release knob.

Working with the tool

The cutting tool works in any position, horizontal or vertical.

Always try to use the tool at right angles to the object to be cut. If the
tool begins to twist – stop work, reposition the tool and try again.

Once the tool has started to twist the situation will

not

improve, it will

always

 get worse.

Avoid cutting with the tips of the blades. Always try to as far in towards
the centre of the blades as possible.

The cutting head can rotate freely through 355º, making it easy to

fi

 nd

the most favourable working position in any situation. After placement,

the tool can be rotated into the desired working position. NOTE, the
cutting head must not be rotated under high pressure. Set the release
knob on the hydraulic pump to neutral in order to depressurise the tool.

On the PC75-40R the quick coupling is

fi

tted with a swivel that allows

the hydraulic hose to rotate through 360º, which makes the tool easier
to position in restricted spaces.

Safety

•

Always wear personal safety equipment, overalls, a helmet with
visor or goggles, gloves, etc.

•

Consider the risks of spark formation if electric cables are cut
through. Always start work by checking that the object you intend
to work on is not connected to a power source.

•

Take care when cutting springs or spring mountings. These
are often under tension and can cause injury or damage when
released.

Maintenance

To ensure the cutting tool works satisfactorily it must be maintained
regularly.

•

Each time the tool has been used check it as follows:

•

Clean the tool.

•

Check that the blades are undamaged. If the blades are chipped,
replace them. The blades may still work if they are chipped, but
the stress concentration that this causes could make the blades
break next time the tool is used.

•

Check that the tool works satisfactorily. Pump it up to maximum
pressure (80 MPa, 800 bar, 11,600 psi) and check that there are
no oil leaks.

•

Oil the blades.

Servicing

Replacing the blades (Fig. 5)

Tap out the locating pin (A) with the aid of a mandrel. Remove the

fi

 xed

blade (B). Connect the tool to an hydraulic pump. Pump until both
locating pins (C) that hold the moving blade (D) become visible. Tap out
the locating pins with the aid of a mandrel. Remove the blade. Reverse
the sequence to

fi

 t the new blades.
