Charging the aluminium glow plug connector
•
Before first use, the rechargeable battery in the glow plug connector must be charged using
the USB charger provided. A glow plug-shaped connector on the charging cable is provided
for this purpose.
• Remove the protective cap on the top of the glow plug attachment (3).
• Hold the aluminium glow plug connector like an injection syringe and pull the attachment
backwards using the finger support ring (4).
• You should now be able to see gripping tongs, into which you can slide the connector plug.
• The hexagonal contact element should be completely enclosed by the gripping tongs. Allow
the plug attachment to slide forwards again with the force of the built-in spring.
• Connect the USB charger to a suitable USB power supply. The indicator light (2) signals
the charging status. Red indicates that the battery is charging, while green indicates that
charging is complete.
Using the glow plug connector with your model
To avoid overloading the battery due to excessive heating times, you should check
that the remote control and model vehicle are functioning properly before heating
the glow plug. Draw a sufficient amount of fuel into the engine, e.g. by closing the
carburettor or pulling the choke valve.
•
Pull the glow plug attachment (3) backwards with the finger support ring (4) and place the
glow plug connector with the gripping tongs onto the glow plug in a vertical position. Then
let the glow plug attachment (3) slide forwards again by releasing the finger support ring (4).
You can now start the engine.
If the glow plug is intact, the indicator on the measuring indicator should be in the
green zone. The exact position depends on the type of glow plug. If the glow plug is
disconnected, the pointer will not move. In the event of a short circuit, the pointer will
move to the maximum position in the green zone. If the pointer stays in the red zone
when the glow plug is heating, this indicates that the battery must be recharged.
• Remove the glow plug connector when the engine has performed a clean rotation at a high
idle speed.
• After use, place the protective cap back onto the tip of the glow plug attachment (3).
Care and cleaning
• Always disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning it.
• Do not immerse the product in water.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these may
damage the housing or cause the product to malfunction.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household
waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant
statutory regulations.
Remove the rechargeable battery (if applicable) and dispose of it separately from
the product.
b) Rechargeable batteries
You are required by law to return all used batteries (Battery Directive). They must not
be placed in household waste.
Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with this symbol to indicate
that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The abbreviations for heavy metals
in batteries are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (indicated on the battery,
e.g. below the waste bin icon on the left).
Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery retailers.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
