h) Mounting the Rudder Horns to the Elevators
Sketch the installation site of the rudder horn at the flaps measured in a straight line from the servo rudder horn. For straight linkage, add 3 mm to the side of the
servo rudder horn because the joint head still has to be installed. Add 10 mm from the elevator flap edge (according to fig. 1). Drill the corresponding holes with
a matching drill. The rudder horns can now be mounted. Screw connections metal/metal without stop nuts must be secured with threadlocker varnish.
The elevator flaps in the rudder horn area are reinforced with hard wood. To prevent breaking out of the drilled holes, slowly drill in at a right angle
and with a hard wood base as a counterbearing. For best results, you may drill with 0.1 mm below the size.
i) Mounting the Elevator Linkage
Create the matching linkage rods with the rods from the construction kit and connect them to the servo rudder horns. Adjust the rudder horns at the elevator flaps
in height so that the installed linkage rods are horizontal with the rudder neutral (approx. 28 to 30 mm). Screw connections metal/metal must be secured with
threadlocker varnish. Observe figure 2 in these operating instructions as well.
j) Mounting the Elevators to the Fuselage
Before cutting out the foil at the fuselage, we recommend
that this area is ironed again.
Feel for the cut-outs for the elevator plug-in tube and the locking pins at
the fuselage. Open these points with a cutter knife.
Try installing the elevators to the fuselage and screw them on with the
attachment screws M3 x 12 mm.
Check the fit of the locking pins as well as the gap-free transfer between
the elevator and fuselage. When everything is fitting, you may remove
the elevators again. Observe figure 2.
Create suitable extension cables for the elevator servos. For reasons
of safety, soldering of the servo to the extension cables is preferred to
plugged extension cables.
Small gaps are normal and not defects. To make this area visually perfect, you may fill in the transfer with thickened resin. Observe that the shaping
at the fuselage is sufficiently waved or applied with a protective foil.
k) Creating the Fuselage Openings of the Rudder Linkage
Before cutting out the foil at the fuselage end, we recommend that this area is ironed again.
Feel for the openings for the linkage cables of the rudder and carefully cut out this area with a cutter knife. Use figure 2 as reference.
