3. Examine the connections for damage, dirt, and
corrosion.
4. Use a multimeter to examine the cables for damage
and make sure that the cables are in the correct
positions.
5. Examine the distance between the flywheel magnet
and the ignition module with the air gap gauge.
Refer to
Servicing tools on page 10.
6. If it is necessary, loosen the screws and adjust the
ignition module until the distance is correct. Tighten
the screws with the correct torque. Refer to
Servicing data on page 6.
7. Do a spark test. Refer to
To do a spark test on page
20.
8. Replace the ignition module if there is no spark.
9. Install the muffler cover. Refer to
To remove and
install the muffler on page 17.
10. Install the starter unit. Refer to
To remove and install
the starter unit on page 14.

1. Remove the starter unit. Refer to

2. Remove the muffler cover. Refer to

3. Disconnect the spark plug cap from the spark plug.
4. Disconnect the short circuit cable (A) from the
ignition module.

5. Remove the 2 screws (B) and the ignition module
(C).

6. Install in the opposite sequence. Make sure that the
air gap is correct. Refer to
To examine the ignition
module on page 22.

1. Remove the starter unit. Refer to

2. Remove the air filter cover and the air filter. Refer to

3. Clean the area around the carburetor.
