To replace or install a blade:
– remove the drive belt protection cover

(Fig. 1) in order to rotate the pulley and
cutter manually;
– loosen the three bolts

(Fig. 9);
– slide the clamping element

together with the blade

out of the cylinder

and
remove the blade from the clamping element;
– flip the blade (both cutting edges of the blade can be used) or replace it with a new one.
Reassemble in the reverse order:
– place the blade

in the clamping element

(make sure the cutting edge is in
the right direction!). The holes in the blade should match the adjusting eccentrics;
– place the blade and the clamping element in the cylinder

– turn the bolts

slightly to the left.
To adjust the cutting blades:
– use a smooth and flat piece of wood to set the blade
2
so that the end of the blade
is flush with the side of the front base plate of the plane (the side used for making rebates);
– place a smooth and flat piece of wood as shown in Fig. 4 over the cutter blades
on the side of the rear base plate;
– turn the adjusting eccentrics

until the blade just touches the piece of wood;
– do the same on the other side of the rear base plate;
– tighten the three bolts completely;

and set the other blade the same way.
If the blade is set correctly it just touches the pieces of wood.
– install the drive belt protection cover

Check periodically to make sure that the blades are tightly fastened and
aligned symmetrically!
Use the special blade holder supplied with the
plane to ensure the correct sharpening angle.
Sharpen the blade carefully along its rear edge.
Do not allow the blade to become overheated
(change in colour of blade). Use a fine-grain hon-
ing tool or whetstone to complete the sharpening
operation. After sharpening the weight of both
blades must not differ by more than 0,5 g or else
the cutting cylinder will no longer be balanced. In
this case the cylinder will not rotate properly.
After reassembly of the blades make sure that
the blades are tight and properly mounted before turning the plane on. Rotate the
cylinder manually to check that the blades do not touch any part of the plane body.
Commutator service
In the course of time the commutator becomes oxidized. This will result in loss of tool per-
formance (the brushes are sparking at the commutator) and can cause motor anker dam-
age. For commutator service please contact an authorized service centre or the factory.
Carbon brush service
The carbon brushes should be serviced after every 50 hours of operation. For brush
service please contact an authorized service centre.
Lubrication
The lubricating grease should be renewed after every 50 hours of operation. For
gears and gear box lubrication please contact an authorized service centre.
THE PROCEDURE OF SUBMISSION OF CONSUMER CLAIMS
The consumer has the right to file claims against the manufacturer for the non-con-
formity of products with the terms of the agreement within the term from the moment
of purchase of the product specified in European Parliament and Council Directive
99/44/EC dated May 25, 1999.
