When installing / setting the suspended measuring arm it
must be ensured that the max. radial shaft load of the shaft
encoder used is not exceeded.
Check the freedom of movement of the swinging link for
each installation.
Figure 109: Setting options of the suspended measuring arm
The benefits of the suspended measuring arm:
Very large setting range
Can be positioned in various directions
Fine-tunable contact pressure
Potentially interfering contours can be avoided as a
result of the suspended mounting of the measuring
arm.
Load direction:
The load direction in the drawing on the left is specified
with the arrow
A
.
Setting the contact pressure:
There are two ways to set the contact pressure.
Via the spring preload:
The spring preload is determined when mounting the
spring to the measuring arm. This can be done in 3
different positions and is marked in the drawings on the
left with a red circle
I
:
lowest preload
II
:
medium preload
III
:
highest preload
Assembly position
:
The contact pressure can also be adjusted by shifting the
assembly position of the measuring arm pivot bearing
along the load direction. The position can be altered from
36 mm to 91 mm. The setting option is marked with a
B
in the drawing on the left.
