FAULT DETECTION MODULE (FD-20)
DESCRIPTION
The fault detection mudule of power amplifier checks opera-
ting conditions of amplifier and disconnection of speaker wi-
ring by giving out the sine wave of 20 kHz at an ouput level of
2 Vrms (at 70 or 100 V line).
As the block diagram shows, the sine wave of 20 kHz (2 Vrms)
is mixed with other signals on the amplifier output witch is
deliverd to the detecion module though speaker cables and
the detection module detects only the sine wave of 20 kHz
through a filter to check a fault.
INSTALLATION
1. Unplug the power cable from a AC outlet.
2. Remove the rear mounted black panel, and mount the FD-
20 in the resultant hole using screws supplied with the mo-
dule.
3. Set "ON" position MS1 on the FD-20 module after connec-
tion of CN601 on the FD-20.
4. Set the FD-20 switch beside the program entry of position
„FD-20“.
5. Connect "COM" of AMP output terminal and 100 V termi-
nal to the "COM" and "HOT".
6. Connect relay contact of FD-20 to the input terminal of re-
lay contact of FS-381. (FAULT STAND-BY AMP SWITCH)
CALIbRATING FD-20 ON POWER AMPLIFIERS
Ensure amplifier to be adjusted in not being used, I.e. Unplug
the PGM and PRIORITY input screw terminals.
1. Set Digital Portable Multimeter to measure AC voltage and
connect across power amplifier COM and 70V/100V termi-
nals. Confirm output of power amplifiers is 2VAC rms at 20
kHz.
Adjust "OSC LEVEL" potentiometer (VR602), if necessary.
2. Set Digital Portable Multimeter to measure AC voltage and
connect "TEST" connector. Confirm reading of 2VAC rms
at 20 kHz. Adjust "Sensitivity" potetiometer (VR601), if ne-
cessary. Insert PGM and PRIORITY inputt screw terminals
if removed.
bESCHREIbUNG
Das Überwachungsmodul überprüft die Funktion des Verstär-
kers und das Fehlen der Lautsprecherleitung, indem es ein 20
kHz Sinussignal mit einer Spannung von 2 V (bei 70 or 100 V
Linie) ausgibt.
Wie das Blockschaltbild zeigt, wird das Sinussignal auf das
Audiosignal aufmoduliert, über die Lautsprecherleitung ge-
schickt und anschließend über einen 20 kHz Filter im FD-20-
Modul überprüft. Sollte das Signal nicht mehr anliegen wird
ein Fehler signalisiert.
INSTALLATION
1. Trennen Sie das Gerät vom Netz.
2. Entfernen Sie die Blende auf der Rückseite und befestigen
Sie das FD-20 Modul mit den beigefügten Schrauben.
3. Setzen Sie den Jumper SW1 auf ON und verbinden das
angehängte Kabel von der Leerblende mit dem Steckplatz
CN601.
4. Setzen Sie den FD-20-Schalter neben dem Programmein-
gang auf die „FD-20“-Position.
5. Verbinden Sie den "Line In" Kontakt am FD-20 mit dem
100 V Ausgang der jeweiligen Endstufe.
6. Verbinden Sie den Störmeldeausgang des FD-20 mit dem
Störmeldeeingang des FS-381. (Havarieumschalter)
KALIbRIERUNG DES FD-20 MODULS
Stellen Sie sicher dass die Endstufe in Ordnung ist und kei-
ne Signale anliegen. Stecken sie sicherheitshalber die Pro-
gramm- und Priritätseingänge ab.
1. Sellen Sie Ihr Digitalmultimeter auf AC und schließen Sie
es parallel auf die 100 V-Leitung der Endstufe.
Justieren Sie mit dem "OSC LEVEL" Potentiometer (VR
602) die Spannung auf 2 VAC RMS bei 20 kHz.
2. Schließen Sie nun das Multimeter an den "TEST"-Ausgang
des FD-20 Moduls und justieren sie gegebennenfalls die
Spannung an dem "Sensitivity" Potentiometer auf 2 VAC
RMS. Als letzten Schritt schließen Sie die Eingangssignale
wieder an die Endstufe.
