alarm once a week to ensure
correct operation by
depressing and holding the
test button down until the
alarm sounds. This can be
performed from the floor using
a broom handle.
8.4 Alarm Mode - In alarm
mode, the heat alarm will emit
a loud sweeping sound pattern
of 3 beeps followed by a pause
and then repeating. This is
designed to alert occupants.
The LED will flash
simultaneously.
Please replace heat alarm under conditions
of malfunction, end of life or low-battery
warning.
9. Precautions for use
• Test weekly.
• Do not paint the heat alarm.
• Both the heat alarm designed lifetime and battery
standby time (including weekly test) is 10 years.
The battery service time decreases if the alarm is
frequently activated for longer periods. Please
note - the battery is not replaceable.
• Heat alarms have limitations. This heat alarm is
not foolproof and is not warranted to protect lives
or property from fire. Heat alarms are not a
substitute for insurance. Homeowners and renters
should insure their lives and property. In addition,
it is possible for the heat alarm to fail at any time.
For this reason, you must test the heat alarm
weekly and replace it every 10 years.
• Heat alarms may not alert every household
member every time. The alarm siren is loud in
order to alert individuals to a potential danger.
However, there may be limiting circumstances
where a household member may not hear the
alarm (i.e., outdoor or indoor noise, sound

.5 Alarm Hush Mode -
If alarm activates when
there is no fire or
dangerous situation
present, the alarm siren
can be hushed by
depressing the Test/Hush
button. This will pause the
unit for approximately 10
minutes. During this time,
the LED will flash every 8
seconds indicating Hush
Mode. The heat alarm will
automatically reset after 10
minutes providing the air
temperature has reduced
to normal. However, if the
air temperature is still in
the heat sensitivity range
(see page 3), the alarm will
reactivate.

6 Fault Mode - If the
alarm has developed a
fault, the battery level is
low, or the alarm has
reached the end-of-life
status, the alarm will chirp
every 32 seconds.
