Viper/Viper 4+ Installation & Operation Manual

License.

Contains the Raven Operating Software end user license agreement.

ROS INFORMATION AND UPDATES

To view information regarding the ROS version currently installed or for a ROS update available for the ROS device:

1. Touch the Administrator or User Panel along the top of the Main Panel display to expand the panel.
2. Select the System Manager utility and touch the Software Update tab. The following ROS version information

will be available:

Current Version.

ROS version used by the device during field or control system

operations. This version information may be important if service or support is

required.
Press the version information button to view additional software and database information.

Install Latest Update.

If a newer ROS version is available, the updated version number will display.

Select the install latest update button to install the version displayed onto the device. When the system is

restarted, this will be the current version used for operation. If desired, select Delete and the update will not

install.

NOTE:

Updates can be performed if connected to a Slingshot field hub. Refer to the Slingshot Operation

manual for additional information using slingshot to perform updates.

Undo Last Update.

In the event that an update to ROS provides undesirable operation,

the device will store the last software version installed and allow the operator to

revert to the version displayed in this field.

Factory Reset.

The factory reset feature may be used to revert the device to a factory condition.

Only perform this procedure if instructed by a dealer or service technician. All settings and user files will be erased

during the factory reset process. Perform file maintenance and copy all critical data to a USB flash drive prior to

performing a factory reset.

ROS DOWNLOAD EXAMPLE

NOTE:

The following procedure is for example purposes only. Any images provided in this section may not

accurately depict the web browser or prompts encountered on various home or office computer

systems. Please refer to computer or web browser user help for additional assistance.

Software updates for the ROS device will be made available periodically from the Raven Help web site:

www.ravenhelp.com

NOTE:

CAN Node Firmware is included with the ROS software download and will automatically download to

the Viper 4, but these updates will not install until the user installs the update. The Node updates in

the ROS update will be the latest version of ROS release and may not be the latest version available.

To download CAN Node updates:
1. On a home or office computer, visit the Raven Help web site.
