Accessory Match Lighted Manual V-17 Valve
• (For use only with Natural Gas Models F, FH, FX, FXH)
WARNING: A SAFETY PILOT MUST BE INSTALLED ON ALL UNITS
DESIGNED OR CONVERTED TO BURN PROPANE/LP GAS
1. Apply pipe compound to threaded end of 3 / 8 " B U R N E R P L U G ( A ) . At opposite end from gas supply, thread BURNER
PLUG (A) into BURNER PIPE (B) and wrench tighten.
2. Wrench tighten LOCKING PAL NUT (C) onto 3/8" STREET EL (D).
3. Apply pipe compound to threaded end of 3/8" STREET EL (D). Thread into BURNER TUBE (B) and wrench tighten
to position shown.
4. Thread O R I F I C E S P U D ( E ) into 3 / 8 " V A L V E ( F ) and
wrench tighten.
5. Apply pipe compound to orifice end of 3 / 8 " V - 1 7 V A L V E
( F ) . Thread into 3 / 8 " S T R E E T E L ( D ) and wrench tighten to
position shown.
6. Apply pipe compound to inlet side threads of V - 1 7 V A L V E
( F ) .Thread 3/8" CONNECTOR FITTING (G) onto inlet side
of V-17 VALVE (F) and wrench tighten.
7. Insert the RATING PLATE-HEAT SHIELD (H) between

Accessory Safety Pilot Lighting Kit SPK3:
• SPK3-F (For use with Natural Gas Models F, FH, FX, FXH)
• SPK-3-FA (For use with Propane Gas Models FA, FAH, FAX, FAXH).
1. Verify assembly of Safety Pilot in accordance with the SPK3-F/FA SAFETY PILOT INSTRUCTION SHEET.
2. Apply pipe compound to BURNER PLUG. Insert and wrench tighten into BURNER TUBE opposite gas supply side. Apply pipe
compound to outside threads of the valve side of the BURNER TUBE and insert assembled SPK3 VALVE onto threads.
Using wrench placed on SPK3 VALVE at the WRENCH ATTACH POINT, tighten to position shown below.
3. Align the PILOT-THERMOCOUPLE ASSEMBLY over BURNER PAN. Using NUT and BOLT through pre-punched hole in
back of burner pan, attach and ensure that the P I L O T BURNER is over the BURNER TUBE CENTER LINE.
ATTENTION: THERMOCOUPLE LEAD and PILOT TUBING should be coiled behind SPK3 VALVE.
4. With the notched end over the SPK3 VALVE OUTLET FITTING, place the HEAT SHIELD over the SPK3 VALVE.
