Voice Coder
Configures the CS connection setup for the selected service option.
●
Echo
: Connection setup for the loopback with delay: the R&S
CMW transparently
sends back all data received on the FCH after the specified
without
invoking the speech codec.
●
Codec
: Connection setup for the speech codec connection: the R&S
CMW config-
ures the setup for the bidirectional audio connection from the speech encoder/
decoder to the DUT involving the audio measurements application with the codec
board.
Option R&S CMW-KS810 is required.
Remote command:
Echo Delay
Defines the time that the R&S
CMW waits before it loops back the received data if the
Echo
mode.
The setting has no effect on the other voice coder settings.
Remote command:
Enhanced Variable Rate Codec
Configures the voice codec connection for the service options SO68, SO70 and SO73.
It is possible to change and subsequently to initialize enhanced variable rate codec
settings also during established call.
The following settings are available:
●
Encoder operating point (rate reduction)
: flag signaled in the service option con-
trol message defining average encoding rate for the selected service option; see
also
chapter 4.2.10.1, "Speech Services"
●
Average encoding rate
: selects the channel encoding rate; see also
ter 4.2.10.1, "Speech Services"
●
Rate restriction
: selects allowed rate of the R-FCH during the speech connection
Rate restriction has impact on the number of detected R-FCH frames in the speech
RX measurement, see
chapter 4.3.13.6, "Speech View (Tab)"
