hybrid mode (R&S CMW-KS888)
Limitations
All available functionality is supported in both signaling applications.
In hybrid mode on a single SUU, 1xEV-DO only supports Rev. 0/A.
If Rev. B is required to run in hybrid mode, the dual SUU setup has to be chosen.
Setup Procedure
1. Select scenario hybrid mode in both CDMA2000 and 1xEV-DO
2. Configure both FWAs on different RF converters (e.g. CDMA2000 Sig on RF1
COM and 1xEV-DO Sig on RF3 COM); use an external combiner to connect the
DUT to the configured RF connectors (e.g. RF1 COM and RF3 COM)
3. Configure both signaling FWAs to the required RF frequencies and band classes
4. Switch both CDMA2000 sig and 1xEV-DO sig on in any order.
As a result, CDMA2000 sig and 1xEV-DO sig should both be running and the
mobile should register in CDMA2000

Hybrid Mode on Two (or more) SUU
For the support of the hybrid mode using two (or more) SUU, it is irrelevant if the two
SUU are located in the same CMW or in different CMWs (multibox scenario).
Hybrid mode using two SUUs is preferable in the following cases:
●
1xEV-DO Rev. B is required
●
CMW doesn't offer a sufficient amount of RF paths, so the hybrid mode has to be
setup using two CMWs in a multibox scenario
Since version 3.0.11, if located in different CMWs, both master and slave SUU may
additionally run
. This allows to establish hybrid mode
with up to 2n cells on n CMWs.
Prerequisites
The minimum hardware and software configuration for hybrid mode using two SUUs
are:
●
Either
–
two R&S
CMWs and multibox sync equipment or
–
one R&S
CMW equipped with extra RF converter module (R&S CMW-B570B)
and
●
one SUU (R&S CMW-B200A) with CDMA2000 extension (R&S CMW-B220A)
●
a second SUU (R&S CMW-B200A) with 1xEV-DO extension (R&S CMW-B230A)
