Ramset regards training and education of
operators a basic essential for the safe use,
operation and application of Ramset Fastening
Tools. Accordingly, thorough training and
instruction is available for all Ramset PA
Tool operators. Experience has shown that
mishaps and unsatisfactory fixings can be
prevented by proper use. The importance of
proper usage has been recognized in several
countries where regulations governing the use of
powder-actuated tools have been adopted.
Training must include the breakdown and proper
maintenance of the Ramset PA Tool, safe and
effective operating methods including the correct
selection of power load and fastener for a wide
variety of applications.
Training must also familiarise the operator with
the basic rules and regulations governing the use
of PA Tools.
Careful study of this Instruction Manual will
enable operators to more fully understand
operating principles and the instructions which
must be followed by the operator at all times,
however study of this manual alone is insufficient
to ensure safe operation of the tool.
The instructions laid down herein should
be followed by the operator at all times.
Before each day’s use, or more often if the tool is
used continuously where concrete, brick, mortar
dust or other materials enter the working parts:
1. Make sure the tool is not loaded.
2. Clean thoroughly, examine all parts for wear,
rust or other detrimental conditions. As per
instructions contained on pages 21 to 23.
3. Oil lightly, leaving a thin film of Ramset
PA Oil on all parts.
4. The use of incorrect oil can cause excessive
build up of dirt and grease. Use only
Ramset
PA Tool Oil.
5. The tool should be dry cycle tested without
power loads to ensure that it is functioning
correctly.
WARNING
If any tool parts do not fit correctly, or
if wear or damage is visible, do not use
them. Do not, under any circumstances,
attempt to grind or file parts. Worn
or damaged parts must be replaced.
Modification of parts may adversely
affect safety features and will void
Warranty.
