1.1 Introduction
The modular network-manageable Layer 3 industrial Ethernet switch Gazelle S3028i
(hereinafter referred to as Gazelle S3028i), designed for industrial users, supports redundant
ring network topology. With full consideration of reliability requirements of communication
system by industrial control, the Gazelle S3028i supports complete Layer 2 and Layer 3
protocols. Adopting advanced ring network protection mechanism in the industry, it provides
fast switching and routing applications for aggregation layer of small and medium-sized
industrial networks.
The Gazelle S3028i has 2 slots for holding uplink interface cards, where the 1000 Mbit/s
service card is supported. It has 6 slots for holding downlink interface cards, where the 100
Mbit/s service card is supported.
The Gazelle S3028i can be installed in the following scenarios:

ETSI 600-mm cabinet

19-inch 600-mm cabinet

Open rack

Workbench
1.2 System configurations
The Gazelle S3028i hardware system is composed of the chassis, switching main control card,
and power module. Adopting industrial-level chip and power module, it meets special on-site
environment requirements, supports configurable interfaces, and is flexible in power supply
modes and networking modes.
