YourRailKingRemoteControlSystemshouldofferyearsoftrouble-freeservice. There
areafewthingsyoucandotoensuretrouble-freeoperation:
Ifyourtrainrespondsinconsistently,replaceoldbatterieswithfreshones. Donot
mixoldandnewbatteries.
Removebatteriesbeforestoringforextendedperiods.
Donotdroptheremote. Itcandamagethedelicateelectronicsinside.
AnyattemptbyanyoneotherthananauthorizedM.T.H.repairpersontoopenand
repairthehandheldtransmitterorlock-onmayresultindamageandthelossof
warrantyprotection.

Theengineshouldbeoiledandgreasedinordertorunproperly.
Regularlylubricateallsiderodsandlinkagecomponentsandpickuprollers
topreventsqueaking. Uselighthouseholdoil,suchasthatfoundinM.T.H.'s
maintenancekit. Donotoveroil. Useonlyadroportwooneachpivot
point.
Thelocomotive'sinternalgearingwasgreasedatthefactory. Greaseengineevery50

Removethescrewfromthechassistoopen
thegreaseport.
Insertthegreasetubetipintotheportand
squeezethetubeonceortwicetoaddgrease
tothegearbox.
Wipeoffanyexcessgreaseandreplacethe
phillipsscrewsecurely.
