This is normal behavior. Toprevent accidental
high-speedstart-ups,thisengine is p r ogrammed
to start up inneutral anytimetrackpowerhas
been turned offforseveral seconds. See the
“Basic Operation”section for more details.
You maynotbesending enoughpowertothe
track to powertheengine. Press the throttle up
a bit highertoincreasetrackpower.
You maybepressingthebuttontooquickly.
Try pressing the whistle button more slowly,
taking approximately one f u ll second to fully
depress the button.
This engine is notequipped with a c o mplete
sound set, sothereis nobellsound. The bell
button will have noeffect onyourengine.
Theenginemay belocked into the neutral
position. Follow the procedure inthe“Lock
into a D irection” section on page 6 to unlock
the engine’s direction.
