is recommended that waste wood and firewood
should not be sawn.
3.10.Large workpieces.
Large workpieces should be supported by a
table extension at the same height as the circular
saw table. Such an extension can be made of
wood and should be placed behind the machine
and attached to the workbench independently
of the sawing machine. You can also ask other
trained people to hold the wood. They must not
however be young people under the age of 18.
4. EXAMPLES OF THINGS THAT CAN GO
WRONG IF CIRCULAR SAW TABLES ARE USED
INCORRECTLY!
4.1. Touching the rotating saw blade
This can happen if the protective devices and
accessories (such as the saw guard, screening
beneath the table top, the riving knife and the push
stick) are missing or incorrectly used. Incorrectly
functioning protective devices and accessories
can also cause accidents. When the machine is
switched off and is therefore no longer making a
noise, the user must exercise caution, as the saw
blade may still be rotating. The saw guard is also
very important in this situation.
4.2. Workpiece kickback
In the event of kickback of the work, people
nearby may be hit by the work flying off at great
speed and may suffer serious or even fatal injury.
Kickback of the workpiece may have the following
causes, possibly in combination with one another:
• The work sticking to the saw blade because
there is no riving knife or the riving knife used is
too thin or incorrectly set.
• There is no rip fence (straight edge) or it is
incorrectly set. The wood can then get stuck
between the main guide and the rotating saw
blade.
4.3. The rotating saw blade breaks
This may be caused by:
• Incorrect sharpening method.
• Saw blade fitted incorrectly.
• Incorrect working procedure.
• Sawing material that is unsuitable for the saw
blade.
4.4. Electrical system
Metal parts becoming live and fire starting due
to an incorrect or faulty electrical system.
4.5. Noise level
Excessive levels of noise can damage the
hearing of people who are regularly near a circular
saw table.
4.6. Harmful sawdust
The production and circulation of sawdust can
be harmful to health. This is also true for sawing
plastic and glued wood workpieces, since harmful
vapours may also be released in addition to dust.
5. MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
APPLICATIONS
This sawing machine can be used for sawing
wood up to 43 mm thick.
SAW BLADE SELECTION
Select a saw blade that conforms to standard
EN-847.
Make sure that the teeth are in good condition
and sharp. This will give a better saw cut and
enable you to work faster.
CHANGING THE SAW BLADE
Fig. 2
Take the plug out of the wall socket before
starting to change the saw blade.
To replace the saw blade, proceed as follows:
• Undo the two screws (B) in the sawdust
collection container (A) at the front.
• The sawdust collection container can now be
taken off.
• Use a spanner to unscrew the saw blade nut
(C).
When doing this, hold the spindle still with a
spanner.
• Remove the outer flange (D).
• The saw blade can now be taken off by pulling
it down at an angle.
• Behind the saw blade there is another flange
(E); make sure it is in place when you fit a new
saw blade.
• The instructions for fitting the saw blade are
the reverse of those for removing it.
When fitting, make sure that the arrow on the
saw blade points in the same direction as the one
on the sawdust collection container.
ADJUSTING THE RIVING KNIFE
Fig. 3
Since the sawing process reduces the
diameter of the saw blade, the riving knife should
occasionally be adjusted downwards. Do this as
follows:
• Remove the insert (A) by undoing both screws
(B).
• Undo the screws (C) in the riving knife.
• Adjust the riving knife (D) so that its highest
point is at least 3 mm away from the saw blade,
with a maximum of 5 mm. It must be re-adjusted
whenever the distance exceeds 5 mm.
• Re-tighten the riving knife screws.
• Put the insert back in place.
