Installation of the Output Shaft (of the Drive kit 39002747)
1.
Gather the items listed in the table of
figure 11.
2. Figure 11 :
Make sure the subframe’s side
plates are clean and install the two decals
"DANGER" #799 (item 7) as shown on
figure 11.
3. Figure 11 :
Attach without tightening the two
bearings (item 1) to the subframe (item 5)
with four 3/8"NC x 1 1/2" lg. hex. bolts, 3/8"
lockwashers and 3/8"NC hex. nuts (items 2, 3
and 4).
NOTE :
Make sure the bearing grease fittings
point to the ground.
4. Figure 11:
Temporarily remove the setscrews
of the two bearings (items 1) and insert the 1"
x 13 1/2" lg output shaft (item 6) in the rear
bearing (item 1), and then in the second
bearing (item 1).
5. Figure 11 :
Position the end of the output
shaft with the longest splines (item 6) at
5 7/8" from the rear bearing (item 1) as shown
on figure.
6. Figure 11 :
Apply thread locker (Loctite #243)
in the bearing (item 1) threaded holes and on
the threads of the four 1/4"NF x 1/4" lg
setscrews. Tighten firmly on the bearings.
