Here’s How It Works!
Your
Roadside Companion
gives you quick and easy access to help in these and other emergency situations:
• Medical Emergencies
• Fire Emergencies
• Police Emergencies
• Roadside Assistance
P
lace the unit on the dash under the front windshield. When you plug in your
Roadside Companion,
you will hear a short beep and the “IN USE” led will flash once every four seconds indicating that
the GPS unit is active. The
Roadside Companion
unit will silently calculate and store your current location.
This may take up to a few minutes.

The red "IN USE" light will flash on and off once every second
indicating that the
Roadside Companion
unit is searching for a signal.
When the "IN USE" light turns solid red and the unit chirps, this
indicates that the call is going through. You will hear a brief intro-
duction confirming contact with your
Roadside Companion
monitoring
center that says: “Welcome to Roadside Companion Services.
Please stand by for your Roadside Companion Professional.”

Occasionally, the communication signal can be dropped. Unlike other devices, which require you to redial the number
by yourself, the Roadside Companion will automatically redial the monitoring center if the signal is dropped.
Please be assured that if this happens the Roadside Companion will make several attempts to re-dial until you are connected
How To Begin
Plug your Roadside Companion unit into the cigarette lighter
of your car. As long as
power is going into the unit, you can begin tracking with RadioShack or make an emergency call
if needed.
If your unit was a gift, please call toll-free 1-888-905-6900 and a Roadside Companion representative
will assist you in activating your device.
