MOUNTING THE PHONE
On a Desk Top
1. Plug one end of the supplied long
modular cord into the jack on the
bottom of the base.
2. Route the modular cord upward
through the groove on the bottom of
the base.
3. Insert the supplied power adapter’s
barrel plug into the jack on the back
of the base.
Caution: The included adapter sup-
plies 9 volts AC, delivers at least
100 milliamps, and has a barrel plug
which properly fits the telephone’s
jack. Using an adapter that does not
meet these specifications could
damage the ET-294 or the adapter.
4. Plug the modular cord’s other end
into the two-line phone jack or cou-
pler that is connected to two single-
line jacks.
5. Plug the adapter into a standard AC
outlet.
Before you operate the ET-294, you
must connect the handset cord and ad-
just the line-status indicators. (See
“Connecting the Handset Cord” on
Page 9 and “Adjusting the Line-Status
Indicators” on Page 10).
