quickly. The cursor will move in the direction of the joystick click. The cursor position
as per the sample figure shows the cursor energy (KEV), cursor CH, cursor CTS,
cursor position (CH) for the current ROI. Moving the cursor will show the regions of
interest as per the setup parameters. The ROI settings are shown in
Appendix C
.
ZOOM IN – Use a long joystick click down to show
the ZOOM IN Screen. The Zoom In screen
shows a quarter of the whole spectrum on
the display at one time. Use the scroll
feature to move the spectrum left or right.
The cursor stays centered as the spectrum
moves, showing the channel, CTS and
energy as the spectrum passes the cursor.
When the spectrum reaches the end (the
fourth quarter) the cursor will move across
the remainder of the sampled spectrum.
5.2.3.4 PEAK ANALYSIS
Selecting the PEAK ANALYSIS mode, results in an
automatic analysis of the last recorded spectrum to
identify peaks. The results are displayed in
ascending order, sorted by energy level. Data
labels:
PEAK - two data are shown, the peak position in
keV (662) and channels (219)
FWHM - Full Width Half Maximum - The computed
FWHM of the located peaks in % gives an
idea of the quality of the peak (7.3).
S:N - The amplitude of the peak in SD units (29).
ENTER TO CONTINUE – Returns the user to the ANALYSIS Menu.
5.2.3.5 NUCLIDE IDENTIFY
Nuclide Identification is performed as a result of the
IDENTIFY Mode. Analysis of the selected spectrum
is carried out.
The TYPE and NUCLIDE is shown
IND – is the isotope label of the identified isotope
Cesium-137 – isotope.
32 – this is the relative amplitude of the isotope in
Standard- Deviation units. In the case of an
isotope with multiple peaks this is the sum of
all the relevant peaks.
Neutron – Neutron Isotopes have been found.
56 – Accumulated Neutron counts
ENTER TO CONTINUE – selection opens the ANALYSIS Menu with NUCLIDE IDENT
selected.
