General Information

These instructions contain important information

regarding safety. They should be read carefully and retained

at the installation for future reference. We will not accept any

responsibility for any injury, damage or loss which may arise

as a result of incorrect installation, operation or maintenance

due to non-adherence to these instructions.
The emergency lighting must be installed by a competent

person or persons in accordance with the relevant wiring

regulations.
All self-contained emergency lighting luminaires require a

continuous 220V/240V single phase 50Hz supply to deep

the inbuilt batteries charged. This supply must be taken from

the lighting supply in the area being protected in order that

should the mains lighting supply fail the emergency lighting in

that area will illuminate.
In addition MAINTAINED and SUSTAINED fittings require

a separate switched live supply enabling the fitting to be

operated normally from the mains supply.
Please note: The design life of a T5 fluorescent lamp is 5000

hours and therefore if maintained / sustained fittings all

illuminated 24 hours a day lamp life will be approximately 6

months. If the lamps are not replaced promptly, the

luminaires circuitry maybe damaged.
Before commencing installation (and before work of any kind

takes place) ensure that the electrical supply and the battery

pack are disconnected.
EMERGENCY LIGHTS SHOULD ONLY BE CONNECTED

TO A STABLE, PERMANENT ELECTRICAL SUPPLY.

FREQUENT SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS WILL RESULT IN

DAMAGING “CHARGE/DISCHAGE” CYCLING OF THE

FITTING AND WILL INVALIDATE ANY GUARANTEE.

Safety Instructions

1.

Ensure sufficient distance around the apparatus for the

    correct ventilation.

2.

Ventilation should not be impeded by covering the unit in

    anyway.

3.

Please dispose of any batteries in the correct manner.

4.

Do not use in tropical and / or high temperature climates.

5.

Do not allow any water to come into contact with this

    product.

6.

If the external flexible cable or cord to this light fitting is

damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified electrician on
    order to avoid a hazard.

Installation Instructions

1.

Fix the light fitting to wall.

IMPORTANT NOTE: TO EXTEND BATTERY LIFE ALWAYS
FIT LUMINAIRE WITH BATTERIES AT THE BOTTOM
WHEN WALL MOUNTING.

2.

Connect mains supply wiring as follows:

3.

For component protection in transit and user safety the

luminaire battery fuse is supplied separately in the fitting.

4.

When all connections have been made reassemble the fitting

    completely.

5.

Switch on 220V~240V AC supply and check that the green

LED indicator illuminates to conform charging of batteries.

6.

Allow a short period for part charging of the batteries and

then isolate the mains supply to the fitting in order to check
the correct operation of the fitting in emergency mode.
After a further 36 hours on continuous charge (and only at

a safe appropriate time) a mains failure should be simulated

to ensure that the fitting illuminates for its specified time.

Thereafter the fitting will have at least 1 hours backup after

14 hours chanrge and will be fully charged within 24 hours.
