Write-protecting Data
Cartridges
To prevent accidental erasure of your data, each data
cartridge has a write-protect switch. When active, this switch
prevents the tape drive from writing data to the cartridge.

For valuable data, always make sure the cartridge is
write-protected before inserting it into the tape drive.
To enable write-protection:
Move the write-protect switch left so that the bright
orange rectangle is visible.
To disable write-protection:
Move the write-protect switch right so that the orange
rectangle is not visible.
Move switch left to write-
protect media. Orange
indicates write-protected.
