Additionally, bytes 25 through 28 will contain the amount of medium to be written in 4 KB blocks.

REQUEST SENSE does not cause the tape drive to flush its buffered data to medium. Therefore, if the
host requires the exact physical positioning of the media, it should precede the REQUEST SENSE
with a WRITE FILEMARKS command with length 0 (Immed =0), which forces the tape drive to flush
any currently buffered data to medium. A subsequent REQUEST SENSE returns to the initiator the
actual physical (and logical) position of the tape drive.

Logical Unit Number. The target ignores this field. Only an IDENTIFY message
can change the LUN.

Allocation Length

The Allocation Length specifies the maximum number of sense bytes to be
returned. The tape drive terminates the transfer when it has transferred Allocation
Length bytes or when it has transferred all available Sense Data to the host,
whichever is less.
