Replacing a Load Cell
This section describes how to replace a load cell. The
CubiScan 125 has three different load cells. The
following steps are general replacement instructions;
steps and figures may vary slightly for each individual
load cell.
Items Needed
•
Phillips screwdriver
•
Small flathead screwdriver
•
Zip tie cutters
•
1/8'' Allen wrench
•
5/8'' Allen wrench
•
1/2'' ratchet
•
Replacement load cell
•
Zip ties
Complete the following steps to replace a load cell.
1. Power the CubiScan 125 off.
2. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the four
screws holding the load cell summing box lid in
place. See
. Remove the lid and set it aside.
3. Locate the damaged load cell cable and disconnect
the load cell connection wires using the small
flathead screwdriver. To disconnect the wires, insert
the flathead into the slot corresponding with the wire
that you want to remove and push down. The wire
will be released.
4. Disconnect the load cell cable from the load cell
summing box by unscrewing the grommet and nut
until the cable can be pulled from the box.
5. Follow the load cell cable from the summing box to
the load cell, cutting the zip ties holding it in place.
6. Use the 1/8'' Allen wrench to remove the screw
holding the load cell cover in place.
7. Remove the load cell cover and set it aside.
8. Remove the load cell ball that the ball cups are
holding in place. Place this ball in a safe location so it
won’t roll away and be lost.
