TAKING A MEASUREMENT
As mentioned earlier, this device can measure in two different units: mmHg
and kPa. The default unit is in
"
mmHg
"
, and therefore the following guide
uses

" through descriptions
.
Users should sit down and relax for 2-3 minutes before a measurement.
Measurements may be taken around the same time daily for reference and
comparisons. Occasionally, multiple tests may be performed within a
typical day to monitor hour-by-hour variations.
1. Apply the DualCuff properly (refer to the section
"
APPLYING THE
CUFF") and follow the posture instructions described in the previous
section. Do not move
your
hands/arms in the process of measurement.
2. Press the button
"

to power on the device.
3. Press the button
"
" again
to start a measurement. The screen initially
shows
“
0.0
”
, and then in about two seconds, the air pump starts bladder
inflation.
4.
It takes normally 10~20 seconds for the bladder to be inflated up to
certain pressure level (automatically determined by the sensing system).
The increasing pressure value is shown on the screen.
5.
Once inflation stops, the device starts testing pulse wave by releasing
the pressure gradually at a constant speed. Pressure value decreases
and is shown on the screen.
6.
As soon as measurement is completed, the DualCuff deflates quickly,
and your blood pressure and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
First systolic blood pressure and diastolic pressure, followed by pulse
rate, in two second interval. The results will be displayed repeatedly.
7.
Press the button "
" to turn off the device. You may also terminate the
process during a measurement by pressing the button "
".

The device will automatically turn off if left idle for over 60 seconds.
Do not repeat measurements in short intervals
. Otherwise, accuracy
may suffer due to previous interruption of
blood circulation. Wait at least
one minute before proceeding with a new measurement (on the same
person).
In case that an error code appears (refer to
"
ERROR INDICATORS
"
table for causes
) during a measurement
,
relax and wait a minute to re-
measure while paying special attention to prevent faulty causes.
During measurement process, if a system error occurs and results in
measurement failure or excessive inflation pressure
, you may
press the

to turn off the device and restart it.
