Step
Remove the two screws on the top and bottom of the cabinet at
the rear.
Step
Place the speaker in close proximity to the bracket and terminate
the wiring. Do this before installing the speaker to ensure access to
the rear panel.
Step
Lift the QSUB into the bracket, and insert the rubber friction
washers between the cabinet and the bracket, then install the
supplied screws and lock washers. Tighten firmly, taking care not
to overtighten.
Step 6
Ensure that seismic restraint cable is firmly attached to both the
loudspeaker and a suitable anchor point on the building structure.
CONNECTIONS
The Concourse QSUB is fitted with a unique dual voice-coil driver
and a dual-channel passive crossover. This permits the subwoofer
to be connected to both channels of a stereo amplification system,
ensuring that Low Frequency signals from both channels are repro-
duced without the need for a second subwoofer.
Before beginning the installation you must first calculate the power
required to drive the QSUB and any connected satellite speakers.
The QSUB voice coils are each rated at 125 watts at 8
Ω
; requir-
ing an amplifier rated from 100 watts to 300 watts per channel.
Add to this requirement the nominal power that will be required to
drive the satellite speakers. Determine the length of cable that will
be used to connect the QSUB to the power amplifier.
