Installing on a Windows System
Installing on a Windows System
QCS software and related management applications can be installed from the
QLogic-provided driver CD or from one of the Windows driver packages available
at
or by using the silent install option.
If you have already installed the QLogic device drivers, then QCS 3 and the
related management applications were installed at that time. For information on
installing the QCS 3 application, see
“Installing QLogic Management Applications”
for a graphical interactive installation mode.
The installer installs the following management applications:
Control Suite
. QCS. If selected, a GUI and a CLI client are installed.
Advanced Server Program (ASP)
. This is a QLogic intermediate NDIS
driver to configure VLAN, team, load balancing.
CIM Provider
. Common Information Model provider. This component
presents the network adapter information to WMI based management
applications. Select this component on a host that has QLogic adapters
installed that you want to manage using the GUI client.
Installing on a Linux System
QCS software can be installed on a Linux system using the Linux RPM package.
This installation includes a QCS GUI and a CLI client.
Before you begin:
Ensure that the QLogic network adapter(s) is physically installed and the
appropriate device driver for the NIC is installed on the system to be
managed by this utility.
Ensure that the CIM provider is installed properly on the system that is to be
managed by this utility. See

utilities are installed on the Linux host.
