Cleaning and Care
CAUTION!

Remove the mains plug of the base station from the socket before cleaning the device.
❐
Allow the device to cool down before cleaning it.
❐
Never immerse the kettle, the base station, mains cable or plug in water or other liquids.
❐
Do not use any corrosive, abrasive or poisonous cleaning agents.
• Check the mains cable for damage at regular intervals.
• Wipe the outside of the kettle and the base station with a clean, damp cloth.
• Keep the device ready for operation. You should regularly remove water limescale depo-
sits with a descaling agent in accordance with the water quality in your area and how often
the device is used. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling agent to descale
the kettle.
Troubleshooting
If the device should stop working properly,
fi
rst check whether you are able to correct the
problem yourself. Otherwise, contact our customer service department.
Do not try to repair a faulty device yourself!
Problem
Possible cause/solution
The device cannot be
switched on.
• Is the kettle on the base station?
• Is the plug inserted in the mains socket correctly?
• Is the plug socket defective? Try another plug socket.
• Check the fuse of your mains connection.
• Has the device overheated? Wait until the device has cooled
down, pour water in and then try again.
The On/Off switch
does not lock in place.
• Is the On/Off switch blocked?
• Has the device overheated? Wait until the device has cooled
down, pour water in and then try again.
The device switches
off before the water
has boiled.
• Is there not enough water in the device? Always
fi
ll the device at
least up to the MIN marking.
The device does not
switch off.
• Is the lid closed shut correctly?
• Is the On/Off switch blocked?
During use, an unple-
asant smell is detec-
ted.
• Is the device being used for the
fi
rst time? A smell often deve-
lops when new devices are
fi
rst used. The smell should disap-
pear after you have used the device several times.
• Have you just descaled the kettle? Rinse it with clear water.
