6. Press several droplets through each needle.
7. Discard the high-purity water.
8. Leave the cartridge to dry on its side, on a lint-free cloth.
Do not apply the cap.
Note : Ensure that the needles are dry on the outside
before using them.
9. Store the cartridge in the PyroMark Q96 HS Tip Holder
Box between uses.
7.6.2 Clogged cartridge cleaning procedure
If reagent solutions have been left in the cartridge, a more
thorough cleaning process might be needed to clear the
needles.
Procedure:
1.
Discard any remaining solutions.
2. Rinse the cartridge several times with high-purity water.
3. Fill the compartments with high-purity water and
immerse the cartridge in a beaker with high-purity water
covering the needles. Leave the cartridge in the beaker
for 1 hour.
4. Proceed with the standard cleaning procedure in section
7.6.1, beginning with step 4.
7.6.3 Cartridge function check
To check if a cartridge can be used for analysis, a simple
function test can be performed.
1.
Fill the compartments completely with high-purity water.
Take care not to let the water run over the edge and wet
the needles on the outside.
2. Press firmly on top of each compartment in turn with a
finger (use powder-free gloves). A small jet of water
should come out from the tip of each needle. If no jet is
seen, fill the compartment with more water and try
again.
3. Check that the jet of water is straight in the direction of
the needle. If not, fill with water again and press firmly.
