Damage to electronics
Before turning the instrument on, make sure that the correct supply voltage is
used.
Use of incorrect supply voltage may damage the electronics.
To check the recommended supply voltage, refer to the specifications
indicated on the type plate of the instrument.

3.2.7
Ventilation openings
EZ2 ventilation openings allow the internal components of the instrument to be cooled.
CAUTION
Risk of overheating
To ensure proper ventilation, maintain a minimum clearance of 10 cm at the
sides and rear of the EZ2.
Slits and openings that ensure the ventilation of the instrument must not be
covered.
3.2.8
Bar code scanner
The bar code scanner delivered with the instrument can be connected to the EZ2 using any one of
the 3 USB ports. The scanner is used for reading the barcode on the kit Q-Card (supplied with
sample preparation kits) and sample bar codes. For more information on how to use the bar code
scanner, refer to the Using the bar code scanner section (see page 132).
