INSTALLATION OF QA1 TRAILING ARMS
Note: QA1 trailing arms are fully assembled, greased, and
ready to install. Install the QA1 trailing arms with the
grease fittings facing down.
1.
Clean the attachment points with a wire brush.
2.
Install the new trailing arm with the grease zerks facing
down. Locate the front bolt first. Use the supplied
grease on the urethane bushings where the bushings
contact the vehicle. Note: The spherical ball assembly
goes towards the rear of the vehicle. See
Figure 3.
3.
Place one drop of Blue Loctite™ on clean threads and
torque the nut to 70 lb. ft.
4.
The trailing arm should then pivot smoothly on the
chassis.
5.
Install the OEM 14 mm rear bolt at the rear of the arm.
6.
Place one drop of Blue Loctite™ on clean threads and torque the nut to 70 lb. ft.
(See figure 2)
7.
Loop the parking brake cable over the QA1 trailing arm. Re-attach the cable to the parking brake lever and clip to caliper
bracket.
8.
Although QA1 trailing arms are pre-lubed, lubing the front and rear bushings with a grease gun is a good idea. Replace
the dust caps on the zerk fittings to prevent dirt and corrosion from damaging the fitting.
Re-Check all nut and bolt tightness after first 10 miles.
