INTRODUCTION
Thermy K is a universal temperature gauge completely run by a microprocessor which has the function of memorizing maximum temperatures
reached.
IMPORTANT: All PZRacing products are water resistant but not waterproof, do not wash the product under water jet pressure, the
product could be irreparably damaged.
INSTALLATION
The main module has to be positioned for optimal viewing. Once the ideal place for installation has been found, the module can be fixed with the
appropriate adhesive material found in the box.
Installation of thermocouple gas exhaust: the thermocouple has to be positioned on the cylinder collector ( 10-15cm distance from the cylinder), in
the case of engines supplied with more than one exhaust install the thermocouple to one of them.
To install, make a 6 mm hole at the desired point in the collector and solder the given M5 nut, then check that the soldering has been carried out
correctly and make sure that it is air-tight, screw the thermocouple until tight.
Screw the temperature sensor with M5 thread to the soldered nut.
Connect the piston pin of the thermocouple which is used by the instrument connector.
- (Only 12V models) Connect the two electrical supply wires, the black wire should be “earthed” to the frame or directly onto the negative clamp of
the battery whilst the red wire should be connected directly to the “positive” on the battery or to a point with 12V supply.
- (Only internal supply models) To replace batteries: unscrew the two nuts in the lower part of the Thermy, take off the cover and take out the
uncharged batteries from their seat, insert the new batteries making sure that the correct battery polarity is respected, close the cover and re-screw
the nuts.
The battery used by Thermy is CR2032 battery.
USAGE
Turning on/off the device, internal power supply version:
To turn on the device you will need to press the ON button until the device shows “ON/MAX”, on releasing the button the device will begin to
show the temperature. Press the button “ON” to switch off the device.
In alternative Thermy switch off automatically after 5 minutes to reveal a temperature under 45°C.
Turning on/off the device, 12V version:
Connect the two electrical supply wire and the device will turn on and begin to show the the speed of the vehicle, disconnect the two wire and the
device will turn off.
Visualization of the maximum temperature reached: press the button “ON/MAX” once only, the display will start to show the words “MAX” and
the maximum temperature for about 4 seconds.
Zero resetting of the maximum temperature reached: during the visualization of the maximum temperature reached (words “MAX”) keep “MAX”
button pressed down, the display will start to show some segments beginning to form a circle, keep the button pressed down until the circle
becomes whole.
Measurement unit: Thermy K can display the temperature in degrees Centigrade (° C) or Fahrenheit (° F), to change units press both buttons, the
device will display the selected unit (° C or ° F) and then redisplay the temperature in the measuring selected. Default: degrees Centigrade ° C.
