INSTALLATION OF MODEL FM14
FOR
SOLID CEILINGS
1.
Remove the system from the shipping container and remove all 3 filters, including
HEPA filter and HEPA bar at exit end.
2.
After deciding location and direction of air flow, locate the studs between which
the unit will be positioned.
3.
Mark out the area where the ceiling will be cut. (Min. 47” x 15”)
4.
Remove the piece of ceiling that has been cut, and remove all screws, nails, etc.
from the cut out area.
5.
At this time, locate an electrical source from above the cut out area, and plug in
the unit.
6.
Raise unit into the ceiling. (Leave the unit protruding from the ceiling depending
on the thickness of molding that you are using to frame around unit.)
7.
At this time, from inside the unit, affix (screw) unit to studs. Position the screws
as close to the top of the studs as possible. This will make the removal of the egg
crate easier. We suggest the use of 1-½” to 2” Phillips pan head screws and fender
washers for stability. We also suggest that you use 2 screws in each quadrant for
support.
8.
Replace HEPA filter, carbon filter and pre-filter, the install H.E.P.A. bar and egg
crate grill.
9.
Frame unit in with your choice of material. (See #7)
