8 Working on the motor
Warning!
Disconnect the system from the power supply before any work and
secure it against unintentional switching on.
When troubleshooting and repairing the entire system, strictly follow the relevant instructions of the motor
and machine manufacturer.
Never open the motor, as it cannot be closed and adjusted without special tools.
Do not modify or rebuild the motor or its electrical connections.
After finishing the work, fully activate all safety and protective devices and check their functioning.
9 Motor installation
These instructions apply to the motor only. Strictly follow the pump manufacturer's
installation instructions.
1. Remove the motors from the packaging and check for any visible damage or leaks of fluid
WARNING! Never manipulate the motor by pulling the cable.
2. Place the motor and pump in a horizontal position.
3. Turn the shaft manually before installation. After the adhesive friction is overcome, it must rotate
freely.
4. Apply waterproof, acid-free grease to the internal gearing.
5. Remove the nuts from the motor studs.
6. Align the pump so that the cable guard is aligned with the motor inlet hole and assemble the pump
and motor together.
7. Place the flexible washers on the cotter bolts and cross tighten the nuts.
You must strictly adhere to the tightening torques of the assembly as specified by the manufacturer.
Caution!
Check the radial and axial clearance of the motor shaft. The
connection must never be rigid, otherwise the motor and pump will be
damaged during start-up.
8. Protect the connection point from physical contact.
