Setting a Password
A password is required when you install the entire suite of
PALPRO40
applica-
tions. Password security allows a manager or supervisor to customize the
PALPRO40
software and then hand it off to a worker. A password can contain
up to 128 characters and can use any characters available on the PT40.

Without the password, the worker cannot switch applications or make changes
to an application’s title or prompts. The password prompt screen appears after
entering the date and time from the application’s initial startup.
After you enter your password, the text in

is displayed.

Press any function key to bring up the
PALPRO40 Options
menu. The PT40 is
now ready to collect data.

If you lose or forget your password, you must reset the PT40 and start over with a
new password.
