7. Connecting PrusaSlicer to the SL1S over the network
PrusaSlicer can be connected to the SL1S 3D printer directly, either via ethernet or Wi-Fi
connection, enabling you to send sliced models into the printer’s internal storage over the
network.
Open PrusaSlicer and look at the
right-side menu with the Printer drop-down menu. Expand
the list and pick the last item (Add/Remove Printers), then select Add Physical Printer. This will
open a new window allowing you to select your network-enabled SL1S. Press Browse to scan
the local network and select your printer from the list. If the printer is not detected automatically,
you can enter its IP address manually (in your printer, go to
Main Menu - Settings - Network to
display the IP address. Alternatively, tap the network icon in the top menu). Next, you need to set
the login credentials. There are two ways how to complete this step:
By default, the printer has HTTPS Digest enabled for increased security. We recommend 1.
leaving HTTP Digest on. You can adjust this option by going into Main Menu - Settings -
Network - Login Credentials and turning the HTTPS Digest on or off. If you decide to use
HTTP Digest, the only thing you can change in the Login Credentials screen is the password.
Take a note of the username and password. Then, go to PrusaSlicer, set Authorization Type to
HTTP Digest and enter the username and password. Then confirm your selection by pressing
OK.
You have the option to disable the HTTPS Digest (not recommended for security purposes!)
