The Prevail Mobile shower chair is now ready to be placed in a standard or walk in shower. A client can be
transferred into the shower chair by using the following steps:
Placing the client in the Prevail Mobile shower chair
:
1.
Bring the Prevail Mobile shower chair as close to the user as possible and lock the casters. The
Prevail Mobile has an integrated spring loaded seat that will help assist the user achieve a standing
position. The casters must always be locked for entry, exit, toileting and showering.
2.
Assist the client into the Prevail Mobile by gently setting them into the seat. Bring the buckle around
the front of the client and fasten them into the Prevail Mobile for added stability. The casters can now
be unlocked for transport into a shower room, bathroom or over a standard toilet for toileting.
3.
When showering or toileting is completed, unlock the casters and transport the client back to their
desired location. If using for a stand assistance, keep the casters locked. Instruct the client to lean
slightly forward and press down on the armrests. This will activate the spring loaded assist and help
bring the client forward to standing position. A caregiver should always be present for exit from the
Prevail Mobile.
Removing the client from the Prevail Mobile shower chair:
1.
Make sure the casters are locked before assisting a client out of the Prevail Mobile shower chair.
Unbuckle the chest strap. Instruct the client to lean slightly forward and press down on the armrests.
This will activate the spring loaded assist and help bring the client forward to a standing position.
2.
Gently assist the client out of the Prevail Mobile shower chair to the desired position. Move the
Prevail Mobile to its designated storage area and lock the casters during storage
Note:
The Prevail Mobile seat will remain up at all times. If the desire is to have it in a seated position, wrap
the two included Velcro straps at the rear base of each armrest, securing it to the frame where the seat and
backrest come together.
Caution:
For entry, exit, showering or toileting, the casters must be locked on the Prevail Mobile. Casters
should be locked for all tasks other than client transport.
Cleaning Instructions
:
The Prevail Mobile shower seat is very durable and easy to clean. The shower seat can be disinfected by
spraying it with any standard non-abrasive hospital grade hard surface disinfectant. Gently wipe the
Disinfectant into the surface using a soft towel or cloth and let sit for 10 minutes. Then rinse the shower seat
to make sure all disinfectant has been removed.
