HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR EXTENSION LEAD

Check for damage and fractures 

daily.

Do not use a 

damaged

 lead.

Do not 

tape or glue

 a damaged lead.

If fitted, don’t use a machine 

without

 the cord 

restraint.

If your vacuum is fitted with a cord restraint, 

always 

ensure this is attached correctly.

Always

 change to another power outlet near the end 

of your range.

Do not pull on the lead heavily if it is 

jammed

, e.g in 

a doorway.

Do not pull the plug out from the socket by the 

lead.

Wind up the lead from the 

machine end.

After every use, wind up the lead 

hand over hand.

Grip the 

plug

 when pulling the lead out from the 

socket.

Do not wind up the lead over your 

elbow.

Do not wind up the lead from the 

wall end.

Do not 

stretch

 the lead when at the end of your 

range.
