HARDWARE INSTALLATION
A. Basic Installation
1.
Place 16-port 10/100Mbps switch on a smooth surface.
2. Connect the power cord to the Switch.
3. Connect server, workstation or PC to the Switch using standard RJ-45
Ethernet cable.
4. Connect another workstation or PC to the Switch by following the same
process as described in Step3.
5. If necessary, another hub/switch also can be connected to any port of
your Switch using standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable for more flexible
application.
6. Ensure that each device is connected properly. Plug power cord into the
power outlet.
B. NWAY Process
“Auto-Negotiation” (NWAY) mode automatically sets the best possible
bandwidth when connection is established with another network device.
A. 100Base-TX Full Duplex(200Mbps)
B. 100Base-TX Half Duplex(100Mbps)
C. 10Base-T Full Duplex(20Mbps)
D. 10Base-T Half Duplex(10Mbps)
Each port with NWAY capability, support Half/Full Duplex function.
*
Attention:
1.
The cable distance between the 16-port 10/100Mbps Switch and
hub/server should not exceed 100meters.
2. Make sure the wiring is correct In 10Mbps opration,Category 3/4/5
cable can be used for connection. To reliably operate your network at
100Mbps,you must use Category 5cable,or better Data Grade cabling.
Sample Application (According to 16-port Switch)
The optimal application for the 16-port 10/100Mbps Switch is as a
“bridge”joining 100Mbps and 10Mbps network segments, the following figure
illustrates the application.
