TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The thermostat maintains a constant temperature in a chosen position. A
normal temperature of - 18
0
C is obtained by turning the thermostat control
knob to number 3.
However, it should be noted that if the fast freeze switch is in the on position,
the compressor will not stop running until the switch is returned to the off
position.
Setting the temperature control
To control the internal temperatures, adjust the control dial according to the
ambient temperature or purpose of use, When you turn the thermostat control
knob clockwise, the internal temperature will be reduced (colder), On the
contrary, when you turn the thermostat control knob counter-clockwise, the
internal temperature will be increased
The temperature control dial has 6 settings from the coldest “6” to the
warmest “1” (off, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6) coldest.
The first time you turn the unit on set the temperature control to the mid way
position.
After 24 hours, adjust the temperature control to the setting that best suites
your requirements.
Turning the thermostat control to the “OFF” position stops the cooling cycle,
but does not shut off the mains power to the appliance, remove the mains
plug to disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply.
If the appliance is unplugged, or there is a power cut, or turned off, you must
wait 10 minutes before restarting the appliance.
If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the appliance may not re-start
and you will have to wait a further 10 minutes.
There is one mains indicator light (coloured green) that illuminates whenever
there is power to the appliance.
There is also a fast freeze switch (coloured amber) for continual operation of
the compressor for fast freezing.
Fast freeze
The chest freezer will fast freezer your produce successfully but for the best
results you are advised to follow these instructions carefully.
Only use top quality products freezing preserves their quality but cannot
improve it.
Carefully clean and prepare each item and wrap in polythene or place in
waxed cartons.
Keep down the size of each package to a minimum, do not forget that a
square packages will utilise more effectively the storage space in your freezer.
Freeze each package as quickly as possible. Produce to be frozen should be
placed in as much contact as possible with the sides in the freezer.
