3.2. Installation of the compactor
Mount the compactor to the carrier as following;
1. In case of adapter mounting type (‘NA’ or ‘PA’
version), assemble a mounting adapter to the
compactor as shown in Figure13.
2. Place the carrier and compactor on flat and firm
ground in the direction as shown in Figure 13.
3. Assemble the spacers and shims to the bores
of the mounting adapter.
The dimensions of the spacers and the number
of shims may vary depending on carrier’s
mounting dimensions, such as the pin diameter
or the width of the arm or link.
4. Move carrier’s arm slowly until its pin-bore is
flush with the pin bore of the mounting adapter,
and insert the mounting pins.
5. Assemble the stop-rings, and tighten bolts and
nuts to fix the mounting pins.
6. Then, assemble the mounting pin for carrier’s
link in the same way as for carrier’s arm.

DANGER!
When moving the carrier, do not touch any part of the carrier. Keep hands away from linkage
area and pin-bores of the carrier.
When aligning pin-bores, never put a finger into the pin-bore, align only by sight or with using
drift pin.
Agree with the assistant on clear hand signals. The operator in the carrier’s cab should run the
carrier as slowly as possible. When the carrier is moving, workers should keep safe distance
from the carrier.
