OPERATION
33
Inspections before starting work
WARNING
Danger from falling objects.
►
1.
Check the condition of the suction plate.
2.
Check the motor (fuel tank full, oil level, air filter, etc.
–
see notes in the
operating instructions for the motor).
3.
Check the oil level of the vacuum pump (see chapter “Oil refilling”).
4.
Ensure that the suction plate is securely attached.
5.
Inspect safety features (see chapter 9.7).
6.
Inspect vacuum filter and replace if necessary.
7.
Check condensation water level and drain if necessary (see chapter 9.9).
8.
Ensure that the lifting device is correctly suspended (visually check the
suspension bolt and attachment of the flange plate; see chapter 5.2).
9.
Ensure that the transportation or lifting device (e.g. crane, chain hoist,
construction vehicle, etc.) and the hoist used are suitable (see chapter 3
for maximum load capacity).
What to do in an emergency
The following cases constitute an emergency:
•
The vacuum supply fails (empty fuel tank, motor damage, vacuum pump failure, or similar
→
vacuum
generation switches off). In such cases, a built-in reservoir maintains the vacuum for a short safety
period (depending on the air impermeability of the load surface).
•
Leakage (e.g. detached hose)
•
Force resulting from a collision
•
The vacuum strength falls into the red zone on the vacuum gauge (weaker than
–
0.6 bar) while
handling the load.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to reduction in the vacuum level in the event of a power failure
or vacuum generator failure
Persons may be crushed and injured.
►
The operator must sound the alarm immediately in the event of danger.
►
Stay clear of the danger zone at all times.
►
If possible, set down the load safely.
Remote control option
The radio remote control allows wireless operation of the lifting device
.
It can also be installed later
(retrofitting kit).
