Section 5 Service Procedures

To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the tumbler before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas tumbler before servicing.
• Close steam valve to steam tumbler before servicing.
• Never start the tumbler with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be

reconnected to ensure that the tumbler is properly grounded.

58. TRUNNION BEARINGS

Refer to Figure 16.
a. Remove belt guard.
b. Remove front panel assembly.
c. Place blocks under cylinder left and right of

center so that cylinder will stay level while
trunnion bearings are being replaced.

d. Remove cylinder sheave.

e. Loosen the front and rear adjusting screws.

f. Loosen setscrews holding bearings to shaft.

g. Remove bearing mounting screws.
h. Remove rear bearing.

i. Remove screws that hold mounting bracket to

tumbler.

j. Remove mounting bracket.

k. Remove front bearing mounting nuts.

l. Loosen setscrews holding bearing to shaft.

m. Remove front bearing.
