All refrigeration A/C units (portable or fixed) make condensate water (condensation) during their
cooling cycle.
To remove this water, this unit has a self evaporating function. This feature allows the unit to
collect condensation in a tray, then hot air (exhaust air) is passed over the water and it evaporates, it
is then discharged outside as humid air through the exhaust hose.
A safety feature is included on this collection tray for any excess water. If the reservoir is full, the
compressor and motor will stop. The buzzer will sound 8 times and the LCD display will show E4.
The unit will stop operating until the water tray is emptied and compressor has rested for at least 3
mins.
Take out the hose from the fixing clip and remove the cap from the drainage hose. The water will
them empty. Use a suitable container to collect the water and empty down your sink or toilet. After
drainage put the cap on the end of the hose to prevent any water leakage and fix hose back on
fixing clip.
The air conditioner will work again once this excess water has been removed.
Also at the end of the season and or before moving the unit, it is advisable to drain down whether
the tray is full or not, by draining the water from the "bottom" drain, follow the instructions below
To operate the air conditioner with a continuous drain, connect the drain hose provided to the drain
outlet and run to a water container. Remove the drain cap. Retain for future use. The hose but must
run downhill from the unit as the water is discharged by gravity only.
