OPERATION
To fill the water tank:
Pull open the water tank drawer (it does not come all the way out) and fill with
clean cold water until the water level reaches level 8 on the scale. Then close the
drawer.
For extra cooling, fill the cooling packs with water (leave some space for
expansion as the water freezes) and freeze in a deep-freeze or the freezer
compartment of a refrigerator. When frozen, place the cooling packs in the water
tank.
When the cooling packs have thawed out, remove them from the tank and
refreeze them.
To operate:
Plug the mains lead into a 13 Amp mains socket.
If connecting via an extension lead, make sure that the lead is rated at 13 Amps,
and that it is fully unwound.
Switch the appliance on using the power switch on the upper right panel.
Press the
ON
button to switch the appliance ON.
To use as a fan, press the
SPEED
button to select the required airflow.
For heating, press the
HEAT
button. The heating element will move into place,
and hot air will be emitted within 10 seconds the
WARM
indicator will illuminate.
Press the
HEAT
button again for higher heating power (the
HOT
indicator will
illuminate)
The
SWING
button controls the oscillation of the louvres.
For cooling, press the
COOL
button.
The tank must be filled with water for the cooling function to operate.
Keep doors and windows open for optimum cooling, and to prevent a build-up of
humidity or condensation.
The water level is visible through in the tank at the back. When the water level
reaches 3 fill the tank as above.
Timer:
To use the timer, press the
TIMER
button repeatedly until the indicators
show the length of time required. The appliance will switch off after the selected
time has elapsed. The timer can be set in half-hour increments up to 7
½
hours.
The time set is the sum of the indicators that are lit, for example, 5 hours is
indicated by illuminating the 4H and 1H indicators.
In both heating and cooling modes the airflow speed may be selected by
pressing either the SPEED button to select
L
,
M
or
H
(for low, medium, or high
airflow).
Press the
OFF
button to switch the appliance OFF. The fan will continue to run
until the heating element cools down. Wait until the fan stops before switching off
the appliance or unplugging from the mains supply.
