Drive Belt Tension and Tracking Adjustment
About
This procedure provides instruction to verify and make adjustments to the drive belt tension
and tracking. The belt tension and tracking should be verified when any of the following con-
ditions occur:
l
Every time the flywheel is removed and installed.
l
The drive belt is replaced.
l
At regularly scheduled preventative maintenance
l
Whenever there are any belt related issues, such as unusual belt noises, pedal skip,
belt edge fraying, etc.
CAUTION
: Improper drive belt tension and tracking adjustment will cause pre-
mature wear and may void the Precor Limited Warranty.
Generator Belt Caution
Making adjustments to the drive belt tension will also affect the generator belt tension.
Adjusting the drive belt tension requires the flywheel to be moved which in turn affects the
generator belt tension. So, always loosen the generator belt tension prior to making drive
belt adjustments and always verify the generator belt tension after each drive belt tension
adjustment.
CAUTION
: Always loosen the generator belt tension prior to making a drive belt
tension adjustment and always verify the generator belt tension after adjusting the
drive belt tension. Moving the flywheel position will change the generator belt ten-
sion which could damage the belt, pulley hardware and/or generator function.
