Speed adjustment
This hammer drill is equipped with a speed dial, the rotation speed can be adjusted from 1
–
6,
simply rotate the dial (9) to adjust according the application.
8.5
Handle attachment (Fig. 2)
For reasons of safety, only use the hammer drill with handle attachment.
You will be able to obtain a safe body position when working by rotating the handle attachment.
Loosen and turn the handle attachment in an ant-clockwise direction. Slip loop onto the neck
of the housing tool and position the handle, then tighten the handle attachment.
8.6
Dust collection device (Fig. 3)
Before carrying out hammer-drilling work vertically overhead pull dust collecting device over
the drill bit.
8.7
Fitting the depth stop (Fig. 4)
When drilling in certain materials it might be necessary to limit the depth of the drill hole. This
hammer drill can be fitted with a depth stop (13) on the handle attachment. Press the depth
stop release button (12) and slide the depth stop (13) in the opening and to the required depth.
First drill a test hole in scrap material and adjust as needed.
8.8
Using the SDS drill chuck (Fig. 5)
For the use of regular drill bits the SDS drill chuck (14) needs to be fitted. This happens
exactly like fitting SDS drill bits (see paragraph 8.1) : Pull back the locking collar (2) and push
the SDS drill chuck (14) in to the bit holder. Check if the SDS drill chuck (14) is secure after
releasing the locking collar (2). Slide any regular drill in to the SDS drill chuck (14) and fasten
using the 13mm chuck key (15).
Only use normal drilling ( I ) mode (see paragraph 8.9) when the SDS drill
chuck (14) is installed on the tool. The SDS drill chuck (14) may be damaged
using the other modes ( II, III, IV ).
Always secure small workpieces in a vise, or clamp them to a solid surface.
▪
The hammer/drill switch can switch the drill, hammer and hammer/ drill functions.
8.9
Mode selector (Fig. 6)
Operate the mode selector switch only when the tool is at a standstill. This
will help prevent premature wear of the tool.
This hammer drill has a 4 function mode selector (6), these functions can only be selected
when the lock-off button (13) is pressed. Press the button (13) and rotate the mode selector to
the required function setting. The mode selector (6) must click in to place and be locked in
position.
If this is not correct damage may occur to the hammer drill during
operation ! To solve this problem simply rotate the drill by hand using the
locking collar (2) untill the mode selector (6) locks at the required function.
